"We can't pretend everything is fine": Cristina Kirchner reappeared for Labor Day and addressed Peronism.

Former PresidentCristina Kirchner shared a message to Peronist activists for Labor Day , calling on them to reflect on the need to update their organizational structures in the face of " the challenges of the present ." Cristina Kirchner harshly criticized the policies of Javier Milei's administration and their impact on workers' wages and rights.
The audio, just over four minutes long, was released on social media during a Justicialist Party event attended by members of La Cámpora and members of the labor movement. " The truth is that it's a very tough May Day. Very tough for everyone; well, not for everyone. Not for the small minorities who are happy, but it was tough for the vast majority of the nation," the current leader of the Justicialist Party (PJ) questioned at the national level.

The former president highlighted the "historic" loss of purchasing power and asserted that " the national government intends to destroy the rights we have won ." In this regard, Cristina urged Peronist militants to " stay united and reaffirm the banners of the historic party ," and highlighted the role of Argentine unionism in the current landscape.
" Unions are the backbone of our movement, but we need to adapt to changing times , which in turn impose changes and present new ways of working, a new phase of capitalism. We need to rethink the present, but without denying the past; not from a place of conformism, but from how we intervene in it to continue representing our values," stated the president of the Justicialist Party.
Cristina asserted that Peronism must "rethink" its forms of representation in the face of cultural, social, and technological changes "that promote individualism and a lack of solidarity." " We cannot be like the ostrich, which buries its head in the sand and pretends that everything is the same ," she stated.
In another section of the audio, Cristina again denounced the "judicial persecution" against her. "When the media and judicial persecution began, I said: 'They're not coming for me, they're coming for you,'" she stated. According to Cristina, this persecution was intended to limit "workers' rights and wages." To conclude her message, the former president recalled Peronist leader Héctor Recalde , whom she described as a " model of activism in defense of workers' rights."
